Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Under general supervision, the registered nurse in the Birth Center provides specialty professional nursing duties. Essential job functions include:

* Providing nursing care to ante partum, intrapartum, postpartum, GYN and well-infant patients within an assigned unit or clinic;

* Circulating in the operating room;

* Implementing medical and nursing care plans;

* Maintaining all competencies for the OB/GYN specialty, including specialized training in fetal monitoring every other year;

* Maintaining all unit-based point of care testing competencies;

* Attending all mandatory meetings as required by the Nurse Manager;

* Reading and responding to all written and electronic communication as required;

* Maintaining standard unit activities in the absence of the Nurse Manager;

* Performing other related duties as assigned/required.
