Lactation Consultant RN - Childbirth

This is a TPD (0.2 Status), variable shift Lactation Consultant RN position in the Childbirth department. The Lactation Consultant is responsible for inpatient and outpatient needs for the lactating patient. Will be responsible for interview, assessment, and interventions to include education and training with patients. Will be available for consultations with Staff, Medical Staff, and patients concerning drug or other substances and their compatibility with breast feeding. Will be responsible for billing outpatient visits. Responsible for teaching monthly breast feeding classes. Continuing education for staff. Minimum Requirements: RN License required. Certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultants. BLS for Healthcare Provider upon hire, and NRP within six (6) months of hire. STABLE within six (6) months of hire. Proficient in English, verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills required. Will consider Certified Lactation Counselor. Preferred/Desired: BSN Preferred. IBCLC Preferred. Prefer RNC-OB Certification. Prefer recent experience to include Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, or Nursery. Weekend Requirements: Per contract.
