The Opportunity: Under the direction of the Director of Women’s Services, and as part of a succession plan, the Women’s Services Manager is accountable for a variety of tasks that lead to positive patient and physician experiences in the most cost-effective manner, while serving as a role model for respect. The Women’s Services Manager will have direct oversight of Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Antepartum and Perinatal Clinic. Supervise a total of about 110 FTE’s with 6 postpartum supervisor and 6 L&D Supervisors, unit secretaries, ob techs and RNs.  The L&D unit has about 200 deliveries/month including high risk deliveries.

More than 3,000 babies are born each year at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, making their maternity unit one of the busiest in their region. They offer a family-centered approach and are there 24/7 to provide patients with the care they deserve. They have a Perinatal Center that offers comprehensive services to diagnose and treat women using advanced diagnostic and imaging technologies by board certified perinatologist, specially trained nurses and experts.  Their Laborist Program offers high-quality, around-the-clock obstetric care for both mother and baby and the first of its kind program to be offered in the San Fernando Valley. Maternity Unit includes a Labor & Delivery Room, and a Postpartum Room.  Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is 32-bed Level III and is one of the largest units of its kind in the San Fernando Valley. The NICU unit also has 2 isolation pressure negative rooms for their most vulnerable patients. This position will provide the opportunity to participate in the hospitals Magnet journey and many leadership training opportunities.

The Candidate: The ideal candidate will be a visionary who possesses:

  • Three (3) years L&D clinical experience
  • A minimum of 2-5 years charge nurse, supervisor or management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Nursing (BSN) or other health-care related field
  • Masters Degree in Nursing (MSN) or in process
  • Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Fetal Monitoring Certification and/or OB Certification within 6 months of hire 
  • Must successfully complete and maintain BLS certification
  • Must successfully complete and maintain ACLS and PALS certification at the time of hire or within the first 6 months of employment
  • Must successfully complete and maintain LA City Fire Card certification at the time of hire or within the first 30 days of employment
