Job Title: Obstetric/Gynecology (OB/GYN) Clinic - Clinical Nurse.

Based at: Gallup, NM.

Job Summary: Sanford Federal is looking for an experienced, qualified and capable Obstetric/Gynecology (OB/GYN) Clinic - Clinical Nurse to support the needs at the Hospital.
  • Requirements: The Candidate must meet the following requirements:
  • Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the department/specialty/position.
  • Licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advance Cardiopulmonary Life Support (ACLS)
  • Tasks: The candidate will be responsible for a variety of common tasks including :
  • Assesses patients and develop plan of care for patients who present to the clinic. Triage patient and evaluate chief complaint. Initiate treatment measures based on appropriate utilization of standing orders, certifications and standards of care for the clinic.
  • Consult with attending provider and collaborate in developing multi-disciplinary approach to provision of care.
  • Coordinate available resources to provide patient and family with social, age specific, emotional, educational, cultural, spiritual and other identified health care support system needs.
  • Observe and assess patient clinical condition- collect and interpret data from the history and physical assessment
  • Based on interpretation of data, implements appropriate Nursing action and informs the provider of the patient's status
  • Assists charge nurse in maintaining patient flow and efficiency in order to ensure safety, patient confidentiality and to expedite onset of treatment
  • Administers therapeutic measures as prescribed by the provider to include but is not all inclusive to medication administration, IV fluids, and other medical treatment to provide and meet the patient health care needs.
  • Documents all relevant patient health care treatments according to the organization's policies and procedures and in compliance with the organization and accrediting bodies health care standards of care
  • Maintain professional knowledge and proficiency in unit specific nursing knowledge and practice through continuing education.
  • Participate in development, updating and evaluation of standards of care and quality improvement measures of the organization.
  • Attends and participates in department staff meetings and in-services to comply with ongoing training and educational requirements for the accrediting agencies and the organization.
  • Maintain a professional caring attitude when dealing with patients, their families, hospital health care providers and other departments.
  • Works on an assigned or rotational basis to provide continuity of services during days nights weekends and holidays.
