Responsibilities:
RN / Registered Nurse - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
As the regions only Neonatal Intensive Care Unit this 32 semi-private bed unit comprised of 19 Level III beds and 13 Level II beds, provides highly specialized care to a large neonatal population. The team is comprised of highly skilled advanced degree Neonatologists, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses that are available 24 hours a day to care for the tiniest acute patients and their families. There are nesting rooms available at no charge to the parents of the NICU babies as needed for teaching and transition to home.
The Registered Clinical Nurse (RN) is fundamental in achieving recognized world-class health care. Assumes direct and indirect responsibility for the patient's care environment. The primary responsibility is providing care through collaboration with health care team members and the autonomous application of the nursing process. Also provides leadership, mentoring and role modeling for other members of the health care team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordination and delegation of care in a safe, secure and clean environment. Care provided displays respect for the patient's rights, dignity, values, confidentiality and expressed needs. Adaptable, using evidenced based practice and information technologies while maintaining focus on providing comfort, relieving pain and alleviating anxiety.

Qualifications:
Required Education:
Associates in Nursing
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Required Experience:
No previous experience required
Preferred: 2-5 years' experience as RN
Required Certification/License/Registry:
Current license to practice as an RN in Florida
Must have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from an accredited instructor from the American Heart Association (AHA) and/or other specialized life support requirements designated by work area
