Nurse Midwife

Overview:
This position is with the Clinical Support Division located at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital, Fort Polk, LA.This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.A recruitment or relocation incentivemaybe authorized.

Responsibilities:
Perform physical examinations on obstetric, gynecologic, and neonatal patients.Provide inpatient obstetrical care to include labor management and vaginal delivery.Evaluate and manage the postpartum period to include discharge counseling and conducting clinical follow-ups.Provide newborn care, evaluation, and resuscitation.

Qualifications:
Who May Apply: US CitizensNurse Midwife:Degree:A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.Degree for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Positions:A graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited educational program in the area ofMidwifery.Licensure:Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination and possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.Additional License Requirements for Advanced Practice Nurse Positions:Applicants for Advanced Practice Nurse positions must be licensed or registered by a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States as aCertified Nurse Midwife.In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:At least one full year of professional nursing experience. Professional Nursing Experience is defined as: performing internal fetal monitoring and vaginal delivery.
