Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age specific groups, utilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluation) in achieving the goals of the nursing department. The RN models the philosophy and Mission Statement of Plumas District Hospital. The RN provides quality customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all and adheres to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. The Perinatal RN demonstrates competence in the assessment and identification of the needs of the childbearing family and appropriately communicates and functions within a multidisciplinary team. During periods of low census, is able to work in other areas as needed after appropriate orientation.
Qualifications:
Required Education: A graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of California. Current BLS certification for health care provider. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification or completion within 3 months of employment. Current S.T.A.B.L.E. certification or completed within 6 months of employment. Current ACLS and PALS certification or completed within 3 months of employment. Completion of basic, Intermediate Association of Womens Health, Obstetrics and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) fetal monitoring course with bi-annual participation of an AWHONN. Advanced Fetal Monitoring program or initiated within 6 months of employment and completed within 1 year.Preferred Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred.Experience: Currently employed as a Perinatal RN; Minimum 1 year RN experience preferred.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, National Institute of Child Health and Human Development terminology.
