Clinical Manager Mother Infant/Labor & Delivery

The Clinical Manager (CM), working closely with the Patient Care Director, maintains 24/7 responsibility for clinical and administrative operations of the department.  Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing and managing staff schedules, requesting and allocating necessary supplies and equipment, facilitating coordination of care and services to meet patient care and operational requirements, supervising and evaluating practice of nursing and support personnel, collaborating in the hiring and orientation of new staff members, and leading or participating in hospital, departmental and multidisciplinary teams, committees and councils.

This leader adheres to and holds others accountable to rules and regulations of the Board of Registration in Nursing, ANA, the ANA code of ethics for nursing, MelroseWakefield Healthcare policies and procedures, and other regulatory stipulations.

EDUCATION:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing required; master’s degree in nursing preferred.  Current employees (in position prior to January 1, 2011) who do not hold a baccalaureate degree in nursing, but possess equivalent, extensive and relevant clinical experience will be grandfathered.  Professional certification strongly preferred.  Current 
Massachusetts state RN license in good standing required.  

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3 years relevant healthcare experience required in Special Care Nursery and/or Labor & Delivery including progressive leadership responsibilities. Current BLS required.   NRP required for Maternal-Newborn areas.

Demonstrated leadership abilities; able to work under stressful situations; possesses good oral and written communication skills and is able to effectively work in a changing environment.
