REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
- Current LPN Florida license
- Certification in Phlebotomy preferred
- Proven nursing abilities and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of immunization schedules
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of referral agencies in the county
- Good interpersonal skills/team player
- Computer literacy and excellent oral & written communication skills
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism based on the State of Nurse Practice Act, ANA standards and our agency policies
- BLS
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- OB triage and prioritization of walk-in patients.
- Assist CNM with OB/GYN patients.
- Administration of immunizations, Intravenous Fluids (certification needed) and other injectables as needed.
- Assist and back-up referral department as needed/generates OB referrals, and schedules appointment with specialist. (i.e., arranges transportation for patients, outreach patients for OB/GYN services, assists with Moffitt's Women of Wellness Program, and maintain ticklers on OB stats for federal and state grants.
- Assist the Registered Nurses in triaging, health education, telephone calls and emergency interventions as needed.
- Participate in the supervision of auxiliary staff as needed.
- Provide high-quality care in a culturally competent manner.
- Utilize problem-solving techniques in the provision of patient services and in promoting a good working environment.
- Participate in community promotional programs, as needed, i.e.; health fairs, school physicals, and flu campaigns.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism based on the State of Nurse Practice Act, ANA standards and our agency policies.
