State-of-the-Art Facility: Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center is Southwest Washington’s most modern hospital, featuring the latest in medical technology. From robotic surgery to advanced neonatal care, our facility is designed for comfort and to meet the evolving needs of our patients and staff.

High-Risk Labor and Delivery Unit: With approximately 300 deliveries per month, our Labor and Delivery department is busy and dynamic, providing care for both low and high-risk patients. We have 18 labor and delivery rooms, 16 postpartum rooms, 3 ORs, and 5 triage rooms, allowing us to deliver exceptional care in a well-equipped, modern environment.

Comprehensive Care for Women and Families: We serve a diverse population, providing care to low-risk and high-risk patients alike. Our team works closely with active midwife groups and a maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) clinic on-site, ensuring comprehensive and specialized care for every patient.

Round-the-Clock Support: Our team is supported by 24/7 anesthesia and OB hospitalist coverage, ensuring that you have the expertise and assistance you need at any time of day. Additionally, we offer 24/7 neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) coverage, with an on-call neonatologist available whenever necessary.

Level 3 NICU with Family-Centered Care: As part of our commitment to providing the best possible care, we have a Level 3 NICU with private family rooms, offering a calm and supportive space for families with premature or critically ill newborns.

Your Role in Our Team

As an RN in the Labor and Delivery unit, you’ll play an essential role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to women and families during one of life’s most important moments. You’ll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care alongside a dedicated healthcare team, providing expert care while embracing Legacy’s commitment to patient-centered service.

Qualifications:

•Education as required by licensure. A BSN or a degree in progress is strongly preferred.

•One year of registered nursing experience or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency Program, or an equivalent nursing program with comparable content, curriculum, and duration.

•AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.

•AHA/AAP Advanced NRP is mandatory (for initial or upon renewal). May be hired with AHA/AAP Essential NRP but must obtain Advanced NRP within 6 weeks or completion of orientation, whichever is longer. Travel nurses may continue to have Essential NRP if not performing in Charge, Neonatal Resuscitation, Baby, or NICU RN roles.

•If recovering OB or Surgical patients AHA ACLS within 6 months of hire.

•Advance Fetal Monitoring Course within 6 months of labor training.

•Ability to Scrub or scrub training within 6 months of hire (specific for Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital).

•Strong interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.

•Proficient keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems related to job functions.
