General Purpose of Job:
The Nurse Manager under general supervision organizes and directs the work of the NICU and programs; coordinates staff to assure that effective nursing services are provided, and quality standards are met. Staffing consists of Registered Nurses, Unit Clerks, Equipment Techs, and other health care providers as needed. A multidisciplinary team approach to care is utilized. The function of the Assistant Nurse Manager is to develop and maintain an environment that supports the professional nurse and staff.

Staffing consists of Registered Nurses, Unit Clerks, Equipment Techs, and other health care providers as needed. A multidisciplinary team approach to care is utilized. The function of the Assistant Nurse Manager is to develop and maintain an environment that supports the professional nurse and staff.
- Shared responsibility and accountability with Director over NICU.
- Staffing schedules and daily patient assignment, monitors established guidelines to identify the professional and non-professional qualifications and skills required for staffing all managed departments according to Driscoll Children's Hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and standards.
- Administrative functions also include cost and quality care considerations from NICU nursing care.
- In collaboration with director, department coordinators, sets and monitors standards and evaluates the implementation of improvements for the NICU.
- Master's Degree preferred, BSN required.
- Minimum five (5) years of NICU experience.
- Licensed in the State of Texas as a RN.
- NRP certified required
- BLS required upon hire
