Riley Hospital for Children is seeking an experienced maternity/perinatal Clinical Nurse Specialist for their new Maternity Tower. Our nationally ranked children's hospital offers a full spectrum of family-centered services including maternal-fetal medicine specialists, OB intensive care, OB ICU, OB Emergency Department and a Level IV NICU. The Riley team designed this tower so all women and newborns can have access to highly skilled care while keeping families together under one roof.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a Masters prepared Advance Practice Registered Nurse whose function is to improve outcomes in patient care. Functioning in five sub roles including: Expert in Clinical Practice, Educator, Leader, Researcher and Consultant, who positively influence the three spheres of practice: Patient Care, Nursing, and Systems in their respective specialties.
* Bachelors Degree of Nursing (BSN) required.
* Master in nursing as Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) required.
* Requires current state of Indiana licensure as a Registered Nurse and meets regulatory requirements to practice as a CNS.
* Requires 3-5 years of advanced clinical skills typically gained through nursing experience.
* Maternity/perinatal nursing experienced preferred.
* Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
* Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
