DEPARTMENT/UNIT DESCRIPTION

The Birth Center is a 24-bed postpartum/antepartum unit, 7 bed LDR, and 18 bassinette well baby nursery unit within the department of Women's & Children's Services. We provide 24/7/365 care, both inpatient and outpatient. We are a Level 4 tertiary center as designated by the WAPC [Wisconsin Association for Perinatal Care].

Services Provided/Patient Conditions:

Our primary population includes antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and healthy newborns. These patients include but are not limited to:

Patient care is accomplished through a combination of nursing personnel that include 85% RN's, and 15% OB Techs. We utilize a Total Patient Care model of care within a Family centered care model.
