We are looking for highly motivated Registered Nurses to join our growing team at Grove Creek Medical Center! You must be willing and able to learn new skills and adapt to change often, as the medical field is ever changing. You must have good communication skills and be detail oriented. Full-time and part-time positions available. Night Shift.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Required Licenses / Certifications: Idaho State RN License. Certifications in BLS, NRP, ACLS, STABLE and AWHONN BASIC.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Clinical competence in critical care nursing, knowledge, and skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Monitors unit equipment for safe use by use of maintenance log or removal of unsafe equipment. Participates in the development of unit PI project, meetings and data reporting. Maintains current license and knowledge of nursing care requirements for all patients on the unit. Assess need for personal growth and development and takes the initiative in seeking opportunities for growth. Identifies real/potential problems of the patient and family in the unit and implements solutions with follow thru communication. Fosters service which is consistent with the patient care beliefs and shared management philosophy of the department and the hospital. Participates in or chairs projects or committees as volunteered or assigned. Maintains effective communication within the unit and hospital. Participates in divisional/departmental meetings and disseminates information to staff. Provides for the safety of all hospital personnel, visitors and staff. Volunteers to take on call hours and shift coverage during high census within OB unit and other nursing areas of patient care. Assist in any nursing issues or tasks when asked, assist with patient nutritional needs if requested or noted as well as housekeeping tasks when available or necessary. Advanced procedures out of scope of current practice will not be required. Identifies and documents errors, complaints or incidents occurring on that shift on appropriate forms and ensures that those forms are evaluated by the appropriate management personnel. Acts within boundaries of hospital policies while performing duties and responds to family concerns/complaints through written documentation. Establishes priorities of patient care in OB unit and in patient care areas when assisting in those areas. Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical care, nursing interventions and procedures necessary for the care of the patient. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information and quality care for use by the healthcare team. Maintains current knowledge, certification and licensure. Attends all required safety training programs and can explain her responsibilities for general patient safety, dept. safety and job specific safety. Performs all nursing duties to the scope of service for unit division to ensure quality care of unit division patient. Follows hospital exposure control plans for blood borne and airborne pathogens and ensures safe environment by instituting appropriate control measures. Demonstrates proper use, theory and techniques of protective barrier equipment. Attends annual education and competency evaluations as required by dept. Demonstrates respect and regard for the privacy and dignity of all patients, families, visitors and co-workers to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit /inter-department team to meet its goals and objectives. Directs other licensed and non-licensed personnel in the provision of care to patients as assigned. Assumes other duties and responsibilities as necessary. Identifies and assumes activities related to dept. development. OB Staff: Performs all tasks and duties required by the OB unit as defined in the scope of service, to assure that the patient needs are met. This includes but is not limited to the Labor patient, Postpartum patient, Observation patient or Newborn patient. Abides by the Visitation Policy and reinforces policy with family and visitors. Keeps Nursing Desk tidy and free of clutter including food, cell phones and personal belongings. Displays phone etiquette when answering phone by stating Greeting, Area, Identifying self and position. Abides by HIPPA Standards when discussing patient, family or health related situation. Documents the need for Social Services and assists social services with follow up care. Performs chart reviews on a regular basis. Must take up to 1 week of emergency call per schedule. Lactation / Baby Friendly Training upon hire and annually.
