Job Requirements# of L&D Beds: 4 L&D beds, 7 postpartumFollow AWHONN guidelines for ratios: Labor: 1:1-2, PostPartum: 1:2-3Common diagnoses/Types of patients: >35 weeks in labor, Mom/Baby coupletsYears Experience: 2yrs experience requiredRNs required to titrate drips: YesCommon titratable &/or set rate drips: Antepartum/Labor- Magnesium, Oxytocin, LR, Zofran, etc. Postpartum: Prenatal vitamin, Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Percocet, ToradolCharge Nurse on each shift: YesRNs required to do anything with RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.): Neonatal vent- CPAP, Bipap, high flow

Additional DetailsFloating to MSP/ED for helping hands, mostly sitting 1:1 with patientsAttributes that help a nurse be successful in this unit: team work, provider consistency, knowledge, independence, good communication.Surgery is in charge of the C section, RNs just circulate for the baby.Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
