Registered Nurse (RN) – Antepartum – New position – Great Benefits and Learning Opportunities

Oh baby! Our Women's Services department is growing by leaps and bounds. We're looking for experienced Antepartum Registered Nurses to join our tight-knit nursing team today.

Position Highlights

  • Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, TX 75231
  • Work environment: The Margot Perot Women's Center at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas is a MAGNET and Texas 10-Step facility.
  • Level IV Maternal Care Center designation – highest possible designation by the Texas Department of State Health Services

The Antepartum department includes:

• 24-beds

• Serve the needs of the inpatient and outpatient pregnant woman of a gestational age of 16-weeks' or more with obstetrical complications

• Pregnant patients 20-weeks' gestation or greater with any condition requiring hospitalization are typically admitted to this unit as the patient condition allows

• The needs of postpartum inpatients requiring Intravenous MgSO4 therapy are also served until the MgSO4 infusion is discontinued

• Clinical conditions seen in this patient population include, but are not limited to, diabetes, hypertensive diseases of pregnancy, preterm labor, multiple pregnancies, volume depletion, and medical complications

• Low risk cervical ripening patients, prior to Inductions when warranted

• Will float to the Mother/Baby Unit, and/or the Gyn/Surgical units at the appropriate time

  • Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours weekly, (3) 12-hour shifts, 6:45PM – 7:15AM
  • Salary range: $27.50 – $52.88 per hour (based on relevant experience)

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support certification through the American Heart Association required upon hire
  • NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days of hire
  • IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required within 12 months of hire
  • 1 Year Experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
  • More than 2 years Antepartum or Labor & Delivery RN experience strongly preferred

Position Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• assesses the patient
• plans the care of the patient
• intervenes as appropriate
• evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
