Job Description:
6 Park Women's Health Unit
Women's Health is a twenty-four-bed all-private room unit solely for women. Women's Health provides care for gynecological surgery patients, medical/surgical patients, mastectomy patients with and without reconstruction, and cosmetic surgery patients. Postpartum patients choosing to place their baby for adoption, or those who have experienced a stillbirth or miscarriage, may also be placed on this unit. Women's Health or Medical Surgical experience is preferred, but New Graduate nurses are welcome.
Job Summary
Registered nurse implements the nursing process for each assigned to his/her care regardless of age (i.e. infancy to geriatric) and is responsible for the patient's care consistent with the Kentucky Nursing Laws and organizational policies and procedures. The registered nurse promotes positive patient outcomes and the delivery of quality patient care and initiates change through active involvement in the unit-based and hospital shared governance councils while contributing to a healthy professional practice environment.
National Professional Nursing Standards serve as guidelines for nurses as they utilize critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills and exercise appropriate nursing judgment. The registered nurse collaborates with the inter-professional team to enhance patient outcomes. The registered nurse serves as a role model through actively participating in the process of continuous professional development and lifelong learning. Utilizes the Nursing Process as the framework for providing care.
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience
1. Active Kentucky License
2. BCLS Required within 90 days of employment
