Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Clinical Scholar Nurse in the Women's Services unit, you will organize, direct, manage, and support new nurses with less than 2 years of tenure in all aspects of education by providing staff development. In addition, you will participate in the identification, assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of education needs for new nurses in the hospital setting off-shift times.

·You will facilitate completion of orientation and competencies for all new graduate nurse positions in collaboration with the specialty (OB) educator.

·You will demonstrate teaching skills in the use of the teaching/learning process for ongoing staff growth and development.

·You will integrate current research findings into clinical practice and continuing education



    ·You will provide organizational and community leadership to facilitate health care to meet the needs of patients, families and staff.

    What qualifications you will need:
    Job Requirements

    Experience

    ·3 years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)

    Education

    ·Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - required

    ·Master's of Nursing

    Licenses and Certifications

    ·Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire

    ·Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy

    ·Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy

    ·Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy
