The Responsibilities of a Clinical Nurse Manager
Dynamic and dramatically growing mid-sized OBGYN practice with 8 shareholders and multiple offices seeks a Clinical Nurse Manger. The ideal candidate will be an energetic leader who will build both a long-term clinical staff team and a strong organizational culture across all offices. Fundamentally, the practice, whose growth is driven by both patient volume and number of providers, seeks a change agent with clinical/business skills plus organizational savviness to position Advanced OBGYN for a powerful future.
This role will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence and optimal patient care. Key responsibilities fall into 3 categories: Change Management, Staff Management, and Practice Development Management. Duties include evaluating staff performance, providing actionable feedback
and mentorship, and spearheading the development of cutting-edge education programs. Additionally, the manager drives staff professional development, leads the recruitment and hiring of medical staff, and oversees the creation and management of departmental budgets. The role also encompasses maintaining a meticulously organized inventory of medicines, equipment, and supplies to ensure seamless departmental functionality.
The Clinical Nurse Manager will manage clinical staff, coordinating seamlessly with physicians and standardizing clinical protocols across four practice locations. They will lead the development, implementation, and management of clinical processes, protocols, and procedures, extending these best practices across all offices. The ideal candidate will also drive excellence and consistency in clinical operations, ensuring superior patient care and operational efficiency across all locations.
The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and contributing to the overall success of the practice. They will assist with the development, coordination, and implementation of a comprehensive retail healthcare operations strategy to deliver high quality patient-centered, and cost-effective care across our network of medical practices.
They will serve as a representative to upper management on behalf of their clinical staff and promote the best interests of their staff and patients.
Overview of Duties:

• Upgrade staff skills to the next level of performance.
• Bring clinical operations and compliance to benchmark standards .
• Engage as true partner with CEO and Board to drive improvement.
• Plan for change with annual goals and detailed work plans to ensure progress and accountability.
� Staff Management Responsibilities
• Design continuous improvement in routine operations and oversee daily performance of staff supported by supervisors.
• Manage and cultivate clinical staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training MAs and auxiliary staff to maintain a cohesive team.
• Strengthen clinical staff outcomes by coaching, counseling, disciplining, and evaluating job performance to optimize clinical care delivery employees; plan, monitor, and evaluate clinical staff performance.
• Create a cooperative environment and among clinical staff and with other departments and the MDs.
• Resolve conflicts and supports teamwork with effective problem-solving strategies.
� Practice Development Management Responsibilities (To create industry-standard clinical enterprise)
• Identify patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and stakeholders to understand and meet service needs effectively.
• Develop policies and procedures to advance clinical standards and compliance of clinical guidelines.
• Advance quality of care by developing and interpreting industry standards of care; enforcing adherence to state board of nursing.
• Support the integration of new providers into the practice.
• Establish a compassionate clinic and working environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient’s families, and caregivers. Promote patient independence by stablishing patient care goals; educating and counseling patients, friends, and families on disease management reinforcing their understanding of medications, and self-care skills to enhance independence. Provide information and support to patients and health care team inquiries with prompt and effective communication.
• Resolve patient needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies to address and resolve patient care challenges.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations to ensure a safe and hygienic clinic; collaborates with healthcare professionals for assistance as needed.
• Ensure compliance and safety for patient and employee protection by developing and interpreting infection-control policies and protocols, enforcing medication administration protocols, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
• Protect patient confidentiality by monitoring and maintaining operational procedures for confidential information processing.
• Maintain oversight of documentation of patient care services by auditing patient and department records to ensure accurate and thorough record keeping.
• Develop budget for staff, training, supplies, and related tech.
• Attend workshops, reviews literature and professional publications to stay updated on OBGYN professional and technical knowledge establishes personal networks and builds connections through professional societies and peer interactions to enhance team knowledge and practices.

Requirements:
� Nursing
o Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure: Must hold a current, active RN license in the state of New Jersey
o Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN): Required for foundational nursing knowledge and leadership skills
o Specialized OBGYN: Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing (RNC-OB) or Maternal Newborn Nursing (RNC-MNN)
o Basic Life Support (BLS): Competency in life-saving techniques
o Advanced OBGYN Emergency Response: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
� Experience/Management
o Clinical Experience: Minimum of 10 years of nursing experience and at least 3 years in an OBGYN or related clinical environment, demonstrating proficiency in patient care across various obstetric and gynecologic scenarios.
o Leadership and Management Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a clinical setting, particularly in obstetrics and gynecology, is highly desirable.
o Advanced Degrees: A Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or related field is preferred for higher-level expertise in clinical management and specialized OBGYN care.
