Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for professional nursing care. Provides direction to non-professional nursing personnel in providing direct patient care to neonatal patients. Supports the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the objectives of the hospital.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATIONGraduate of an accredited nursing program. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCEOne year of previous NICU clinical experience preferred.REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSCurrent licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.American Heart Association BLS required.NRP required.REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIESInterpersonal and critical thinking skills required. Excellent communication and team work skills. Basic clinical, computer & typing skills.WORK SCHEDULEThis unit/department is staffed to provide coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. It requires working weekends and holidays. Generally scheduled 12 hour shifts day or night rotations. Schedules and work shifts may be changed in respect to patient procedure demands and hospital census. During low census or low procedure volumes, staff may be required to float to other nursing units where deemed competent, flex hours or rotate days off without pay.
