In order to support and facilitate the operation of the Labor, Delivery, Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP), the OB Technician carries out a range of patient care and administrative tasks. Under the guidance and supervision of a Registered Nurse, they collaborate closely and provide direct care to patients of different ages (neonate, adolescent, adult). They communicate with doctors, patients, families/significant others, hospital staff, and community agencies to provide basic care. They also complete and process birth certificates and "Declaration of Paternity" forms.



1. High School Diploma or Equivalent 2. BLS Certification within 30 days and maintain current3. Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, ROP, Paramedic Training Program, Certified Surgical Scrub Technician or equivalent required. (State Specific)
