Registered Nurse – Family Center Montrose, Colorado The Registered Nurse coordinates the plan of care, provides direct age-appropriate nursing interventions, and patient education by collaborating with ancillary and other patient-team personnel. Directs LPNs, CNAs, and ward secretaries/technicians. Works under the supervision of the nurse manager and/or nursing supervisor. Specific to the Family Center, the RN provides comprehensive, family centered care in the areas of antepartum, low and high risk obstetrical patients, medical/surgical patients, well newborn and selected high risk newborns. Specific duties under these categories may include: • Uses acceptable standards of practice based on nursing process and theory to help the • individual/family/group with complex and unpredictable needs. Identify and meet basic age-appropriate health needs. The nurse coordinates care of the individual/family/group using a multidisciplinary holistic approach. • Promotes a climate in which consumers can act in their own interest or intervenes when they are unable to do so. • Uses the nursing process and theory to provide age-appropriate individual/family/guardian/designated surrogate education using a wide range of teaching activities to promote health. • Works to achieve desired health care outcomes by effectively utilizing human and material resources. • Is accountable for the ethical, legal and professional responsibilities related to nursing practice across all roles, within the scope of practice. Physical demands may include: • Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds • Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds • Ability to stand for extended periods • Fine motor skills • Visual acuity We are looking for someone with the following qualifications: • Education: Graduated RN, ADN, diploma, BSN nursing program, with a current or pending Colorado nursing license. • Training and Experience: BCLS required. NRP required within 6 months of hire. STABLE and Fetal Monitoring recommended. • Job Knowledge: Encompasses a wide range of nursing, psycho-social and medical information which includes nursing process, communications and problem-solving, assessment and prioritizing skills.
