Texas Health Arlington, a baby-friendly facility, has a full-time opportunity for an experienced Labor & Delivery RN.
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. RNs hired after January 2014, require completion of BSN within 3 years of start date. RNs hired within THR after December 2016, require completion of BSN within 2 years of start date.
Required minimum experience:
One (1) year experience as a clinical nurse (RN) , or completion of an RN residency program, or acceptance into a THR residency program.
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing; Current AHA BLS/CPR training. Current ACLS certification
Credentials specific to specialty as defined:
- NRP certifications within 3 months of hire if not current - Current AWHONN Fetal monitoring (EFM) or AWHONN earned during NEO and will obtain advanced certification once qualified.
Required skills (if applicable):
A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
More than 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in an acute care setting - Ability to triage, labor, deliver, circulate and recover patients - Excellent communication skills, Proficient in basic computer knowledge - computerized charting - EPIC/Care Connect. Proficient in customer service skills. - Baby friendly environment - RN-C certification is helpful
HOURS: Full-time: 6:30PM-7:00AM, 36 hours a week, (3) 12-hour shifts/week including weekends and holidays, self scheduling
DEPARTMENT: - 18 LDR's - 2 OR suites - Average 160 to 175 deliveries per month
separate unit: - 16-bed Maternal/Newborn unit - Breastfeeding education - Skin-to-skin education
